Great Horned Owl - Bubo virginianus
To say I love great horned owls would be an understatement. This blog is a reference to a book about great horned owls. We met this owl at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Someone found him outside a Home Depot when he was a baby. The funny thing about owls is that, as they develop, they will connect and associate with who ever is around. In the wild, they bond with their mothers. This owl bonded to people. As an adult, he continues to make the baby food call that would prompt his mother to feed him, but he doesn't hoot. I suppose he doesn't give a hoot about being an owl, he just wants to be fed.
